This tough jacket is a team favorite. Inspired by a piece straight from our vintage archives, there’s a cool practicality to every detail. It’s made from a garment-dyed Italian cotton canvas with a sturdy weave (read: won’t snag on the underbrush if you find yourself tromping around in the woods). There’s a throat latch at the collar to help protect you from the elements on a blustery day, and a grand total of seven pockets: two oversized patch-and-flap hand pockets at the hip, which sit on top of two hidden zippered side-entry pockets, two hand-warming pockets at the chest lined in soft brushed cotton, and a zippered game pocket at the back. Traditionally, game pockets were meant for storing, well…game, but feel free to tuck in anything from some emergency cash to a bottle of wine.
Tucked away in the heart of the Alps, the family-run Tessuti di Sondrio mill was founded in 1895 and is one of Italy’s most revered cotton fabric weavers.
